Did my Vlog at the gym again this week. Just one of the things I'm excited about going after more since I have a bit more time (quit the side job last week). In this week's Vlog, I'm sharing about some other things I'm working on per usual. Check it out.
Marie's Acting Journey 2017 | Wk. 15/16
1. What did I learn this week about my craft?
I learned the importance of making sure I face out to camera when filming. Totally ruined an opportunity to be seen well, by not making sure of this. Now I have known this forever, but no one checked me in the moment, and I didn't know we were only going to do one camera for the shot (no focus on me). So I learned, I need to be my own director in some instances. Here is the scene on Vimeo.
2. What am I currently working on?
While I feel like I have a great foundation in my acting taking apart scenes and bringing the character to life, I want to work on my technical acting. So I started a new acting class that focuses on acting for the camera and set. I want to hone in as much as possible in my auditions on camera while I am "not" waiting for auditions to come! I'm also focusing a lot of my time at the gym boxing 6-7 times a week. I love the push and the discipline it forces me to have. But why are my thighs getting bigger instead of smaller? Not needed people...
3. What was my "faith" lesson this week?
I'm continuing to remember that God is working in background. It's been the slowest it has ever been for me in the last 4 years, but I have had great opportunities, so I am remembering that it is someone else's turn. I just need to keep focusing on my craft, not losing heart. It's a daily mind struggle for actors.
