#Faithful2017 | Marie's Acting Journey Week 20
Feeling so productive this week! I like things to be orderly around me, so I have been wanting to clean my car and organize my office and all my books forever. This helps me work better. Currently my office is the kitchen table, and that just makes no sense especially since I have an actual desk surrounded by inspirations, reminders and awesome stationary. The kitchen just creates a distraction. So I'm sending you my next Vlog straight from my new office desk!
Marie's Acting Journey 2017 | Wk. 20
1. What did I learn this week about my craft?
This week I learned the importance of taking more time to tackle harder scenes. I got to work on a scene from Inglorious Basterds in class, and in order to understand the character, I had to do some extra research. As I haven't auditioned for such large roles (yet), I haven't been forced yet to do the type of work involved in a major role in a motion picture (or for example, a series regular on TV). I know it's coming though, and I just need the pressure of class (a deadline and accountability) and the excitement and persistence to do the work. Once it's preparation for the real thing, I'm sure to see just how it pays off!
2. What am I currently working on?
Well, as you have probably noticed my lack of discussion on the topic, the Webseries is on hold until I rediscover my creative genius or something that can show me where to go. Also got to get on page with everyone on board. So I am reading over my notes from previous acting classes and workshops and taking into account the things I have already learned. I want to make sure I have them under my belt. It's like going to church and listening to the sermon and forgetting it when you walk out the door. Pointless! So I have time with the slower Summer, so why not take advantage of what I should already know...
3. What was my "faith" lesson this week?
I keep forgetting to pray for my dreams. Maybe some of you don't relate to this, but I will have these dreams and passions for what I want to do. I know the gifts I have been given, but shortcomings and unfulfilled expectations can crush them sometimes. But I realized this week that I have done nothing without God so far, even moving here to the great ATL. But I forget to pray to him and ask for what I need until I am crawling on the ground heartbroken because I can't reconcile the driven feelings I have with the lack of fulfillment. I know he is listening though and always has a plan. I just need to keep going to him. Not just for what I need either, but to say thank you for all he has already given to me. Remember.
