Thanks for checking out my weekly Vlog once again! Man, I am feeling good this week! You know those weeks where everything just starts out right and even the things that don't go right, can't touch it? Yeah, that's how I feel. Check out below why!
Marie's Acting Journey 2017 | Wk. 21
1. What did I learn this week about my craft?
Comedy. Oh my gosh. I thought going into class, having practiced for so many hours, I would be ready to rock my scene. No, it did not go well, and it was a humbling experience. What I learned on a basic level was that in comedy, you have to be word-for-word perfect and keep up the pace, understand the timing. And NO filler words! I am definitely going to go after this genre more. We don't have a lot of it in Atlanta, but all acting is not in Atlanta, duh.
2. What am I currently working on?
I just got new headshots! So it's been a couple years, and honestly getting new headshots is something pretty typical for an actress, but I'm just pretty excited, because this time I feel like I'm going after something new. I know what I'm going for, and honestly, it's been the slowest year ever, so I'm ready for something new. I'll be posting them soon! I haven't even seen them yet myself, but let me tell you, thank God for Goodwill.
3. What was my "faith" lesson this week?
You know how people say, "Don't let anyone see your weakness?" Well that is crap. It just breeds pride and creates a false security in ourselves based on the idea that I'm more valuable when I'm perfect. Wrong. This was exposed to me more in class dealing with- yes, you got it- that comedy scene. Wasn't my comfort zone, that's for sure. So I must be okay with showing my weaknesses and learning along the way. Let's do this!
